Starting July 9, Etsy will require import duties to be prepaid for US orders.

This means I will have to include import duties in my product prices, which will make my items much more expensive for US customers.

The main reasons are Etsy’s additional fees and the weak Japanese yen.
If I pay US import duties in advance from Japan, the exchange rate makes the cost much higher.

Because of this, I’m looking into another option through my Japanese BASE shop, which uses an international forwarding service.

However, I cannot check the final total cost on my side when using this service.
